This is a Hindu temple located at a distance of about 8km from Lalgudi near Trichy; on the banks of the river Kollidam. It is one of the Pancharanga Kshetrams along the course of the Kaveri are Srirangapatnam (Karnataka), Srirangam, Koyiladi (Anbil) and Kumbhakonam and Indalur (Mayiladuturai). Anbil is also known by the names Tirumaalayanturai, Mandookapuri, Bhrahmapuri.
Located on the North Bank of the river Kollidam this temple is situated on approximately 1.5 acres of land. The east facing temple is entered through a 3 tier Rajagopuram. Moolavar is Thiruvadivazhagiya Nambi Peruman is resting in Bhujanga Sayanam. Utsavar is Sree Sundararajan, Thaayar is Azhagiyavalli Nachiyar. Theertham - Mandoogapushkarini, Vimaanam - Tharaga Vimaanam, a speciality of the Kollidam river bank area.
